Pepe & Coco need a forever home
Coco and Pepe are still looking for their forever home together.
They are 9-year-old miniature poodle brothers and they really are lovely little dogs.
They came to Jersey when they were 2 years old from another rescue. As they find travelling stressful, we agreed to help with rehoming them here, rather than putting them through another journey.
They are now in foster care and have settled in really well. Their foster family have got to know them properly now, which has been really helpful, and they have lots of lovely things to say about them.
Both boys are friendly, affectionate and enjoy their walks. They like being with people and are happiest when they can be close by, whether that is beside you on the sofa, in a dog bed, or tucked up somewhere cosy.
They are looking for a quieter home where they will have company for a good part of the day. They can be left for up to around 4 hours when needed, but they are not dogs who are used to being left for long periods, or being left regularly.
Coco and Pepe have previously lived with a toddler and a baby. They are not unkind dogs at all, but the noise and routine of very young children was making them anxious. For that reason, we are looking for a home without young children. Visiting children would be fine, as long as the boys have somewhere quiet to go if they want to rest.
They are good with people and other dogs, and could possibly live with another calm dog or dogs. We are not sure about cats at this stage.
They have no food aggression, take treats very gently and do not beg or whine while people are eating, although they will happily help with any crumbs that happen to fall.
They are also making good progress with car travel. This is something their new family would need to keep working on slowly and kindly, especially if they needed to do regular or longer journeys.
As poodles, they will need regular grooming, so anyone applying would need to think about the ongoing cost of this.
Coco is the phantom-coloured boy. He is a real little cuddle companion and loves being tucked up under a fleecy blanket. One of his sweetest habits is greeting you when you come home by bringing over one of his treasured possessions.
Pepe is the apricot-coloured boy. He is a happy, affectionate little dog who loves a game of fetch and will bring the ball back again and again. He also enjoys sunbathing, frozen lick pads, walks and just being with his people.
At the moment, we are only looking at applications for Coco and Pepe as a pair. They are very bonded and we would really love to see them stay together.
