*Reserved* Ginger is looking for a home

Updated: Mar 30

Ginger (the ginger girl in the photos!) is a 7 year old whippet cross, she acts younger than 7 a lot of the time! She is recently neutered and is fully vaccinated.

The other dog in the photos is her sister who has already found her forever home. As we have got to know them, we have decided it is better for the sisters to go to separate homes but meets after they are settled could be possible if a new home wishes.

Ginger is good with other dogs, loves humans, walks lovely on the lead and travels well.

She can live with children 5+ and we would be open to conversations with homes who have younger children depending on their experience with dogs. Please note: Ginger presently will be interested in chewing children’s toys if they are in reach and supporting her to understand what toys are hers will take a little time.

We would ideally like a home with another dog already in the home to give her canine company but she could also be an only dog.

She cannot live with cats or any caged animals which she has to share her spaces with (eg a hamster in a bedroom she won’t access would be workable).

She isn’t used to having free rein in a home so will need a family who can support her with this - she will jump on cabinets and tables and can clear normal height stair gates with ease!

House training is work in progress and a new home should expect accidents to begin with. Grass has been a more appealing surface for her over paving / tarmac. She could live in a home without a garden but house training is likely to be slower.

She is crate trained and is used to sleeping in a crate at night and going in one if left home. She is likely to settle best if sleeping in a bedroom.

She initially will bark when left so a home where she can have company - either with her family or going to doggy day care is needed. With time, she may become more settled when left.

Ginger loves going for walks and will try to play with other dogs. She currently doesn’t have recall so on lead only walks for now.

She is respectful of other dogs if they say no to her and will back away.

She loves cuddles and being close to her humans so expect her to clamber onto your lap regularly and sit by your feet if standing - she could be a trip hazard in the kitchen if you don’t check where you are walking and she is definitely a dog who will want to project manage your time in the bathroom!

Ginger enjoys playing with (and defluffing) toys!

Ginger will make a great addition to a home who have time to support her and give her lots of time and love. She has melted the hearts of our team.
